
Biography
Born in Rome in 1999, Erica Piccotti gained national attention by debuting at the age of 13 for the “Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia” and later on she gained international recognition by succeeding in numerous competitions and receiving the prestigious ICMA Award as “Young Artist of the Year”. Since then, she has performed at prestigious festivals and in major theaters both in Italy and abroad, from Teatro alla Scala to Carnegie Hall in New York, from Wigmore Hall to the Konzerthaus in Berlin.
She has worked as soloist with many renowned conductors such as Antonio Pappano, Daniel Oren, and György Györiványi Ráth. She has shared the stage with great artists such as Sir András Schiff, Mischa Maisky, Gidon Kremer, Itamar Golan, Mario Brunello, Salvatore Accardo, and Bruno Giuranna. She has recorded for Warner Classics and has frequently appeared on RAI television and radio broadcasts.
In 2013, she was given the Title of Honor “Alfiere delle Repubblica” by then-President Giorgio Napolitano. Erica Piccotti plays a 1925 Ettore Soffritti cello from Ferrara.
